So, I’d like to pose a question to all you mommies out there. What’s your average spend (or budget) for gifts that your child(ren) give to friends who’s birthday party they attend – whether it be at school or over weekends?

My place of solitude has got to be the kitchen. I simply love to cook up a storm by trying out new recipes. Whether it’s baking or cooking – both are quite exciting and deliver scrumptious results for all to enjoy. There’s no greater gratification than the smiles of your loved ones after enjoying a meal that you’ve spend hours on preparing. Read More »
It’s the New Year. That means new feels. New opportunities. The same dreams. A fresh start. If you’re anything like me, then one of your goals for the year is to remain super organised.
Wow. Where to begin? It feels like every year we end off stating what a crazy year it has been. But on a personal level, none of the previous years can compare to 2017’s level of insanely crazy and busy-ness. Agree?
Ask anyone that really knows me and they’ll tell you that I love to listen and watch inspirational, motivational and informative clips. Two of my favourites are podcasts through iTunes and TED Talks. I find you can learn so much from these experts and use their insights as guidance on any challenges or situations that you are dealing with right now.
No child comes with a manual, just as life doesn’t come with a how-to guide. By way of our reference groups, opinion leaders and our own experiences we learn and adapt to the hand that we are dealt with through our journey on earth. Some days, it’s good and smooth-sailing whilst some days are tiring and just plain hard to get through. You crawl into bed wishing you had more time to finish all that needs to get done, and yet, you also wish for more time to just enjoy the small pleasures of being human and the joys of being alive and well. 24 hours just doesn’t seem like enough, yet you feel exhausted beyond words in all that you’ve managed to achieve in one day.
– not a mommy-related post, but hopefully one that you can relate to.
I’ve been wanting to write a post on this subject for a very long time now, but never really seemed to have the courage to do so. A few days ago, I decided “screw it, because if we as moms can proudly share our views and experiences on other controversial topics through social media (like breastfeeding, for example… gasp!) what’s stopping us to share other very real aspects of being an adults placed/absorbed into parenthood?
Anyone who knows me can vouch that I’m pretty intense when it comes to car safety for littlies, especially Caitlin and her car seat who seem to have a love/hate relationship… This mama does not allow any form of back seat (or worse, front seat) driving when mom’s around! Blame the anxious, paranoid parent in me – or the fact that I love my child to absolute death and trust no one when it comes to her safety (yes, I’m that bad!).
Jeez… three months since my last blog post! Where has the time gone?!
Life’s turned into such a rat race, hasn’t it? Rushing from the one to-do to the next. No wonder ‘mental overload’ is making burn out a reality! After a very long study session today, I’m sitting on the couch writing this post as Caitlin watches Despicable Me 3 and hubby watches his own programme in the bedroom. I can’t help but ask myself: since when did ‘screen-time’ become ‘me-time’? Or ‘family-time’, for that matter? Has the modern age of having our needs available at the click of a button changed our habits this drastically? Clearly, the answer is ‘yes’.
